Poimena is the oldest disc golf course in Australia (est. 1985) and is regarded as one of the country’s most challenging and beautiful. Three-time World Champion, Nate Doss (USA), rates Poimena Reserve as one of his favourite courses.

The 18 basket course is characterised by its elevation changes, bush terrain, sloping greens and stunning vistas over the River Derwent and Mount Wellington.

  • Short course (blue tees) – Par 57
  • Tees: Mostly compact gravel. The remainder are grass and one is recycled plastic.

The course is operated by Glenorchy City Council with help from volunteer disc golfers. It is open to the public all year round and best of all it’s free to play.
